Noah's Ark 2nd Birthday Party

For Logan's 2nd birthday we decided to do a Noah's Ark theme. He was turning 2, we were going to be a family of 2 kids, and we were hoping the new would be a boy and he would be named Noah (it's a meet the baby party as well).

The Friday before, both our moms and Kev's sister came to help with the 2 boys and making decorations and setting up.

In the dining room we hung clouds cut out of poster board with rain drops falling, an ark with animals traced on butcher paper, burlap banners for both boys (that are now in their room) and photos from his second year of life spelling out T-W-O. They are on foam board covered in burlap so we can use them again and they weren't too heavy to hang on the wall.

We had the food and drink tables in the dining room.
Rain water (blue gaterade)

"Sea foam" aka whipped jello, "Be fruitful and multiple" fruit salad
Animal feed aka veggies and dip
"Son of Ham salad"
"Ark bark" aka peanut brittle and zebra preztels
Animal cookies in an ark
Rainbow cupcakes "God's promise cake"
Rainbow candies
The rain clouds and rainbow in the living room.

"rain clouds" in all the corners of the living room

And of course cake time

No hesitation this year

Do I have something on my face mom?

I wish I had more photos from the party, but that was the night we took Noah to the ER for the first time (before our 16 day stay at CHOP) so I was a bit preoccupied.

Baby Shower Gifts

Saturday I drove out to Ephrata for my cousin's baby shower. She's having a little girl (first for our family, yay!) which is super exciting. I whipped up a few little gifts for her and thought I'd share them. I've had many people tell me that I should open an Etsy shop with them, and maybe I will. Someday. For now, I'll just say that I'm open to doing custom orders if you have a shower coming up, or if you're having a baby and would like something. :-)
Almost everything (minus a basket full of stuff for the hospital)
I made a diaper bouquet (an idea from pinterest, but didn't have instructions so I guessed how myself), 4 burp cloths, 2 crochet headbands, 2 pacifier clips, 1 nursing cover clip, covered a wiper box, and a diaper pouch and stocked it, including a covered travel wipe case.

The pacifier clips, works great with either kind, the ones with a 'handle' or with the holes
Nursing cover clip- turns any blanket into a nursing cover, without having the bulk of having to pack something extra that takes up a bunch of room

Burp cloths, including a contoured one

Covered wipe container- just to look nicer sitting on the changing table
Diaper pouch and covered wipe case - pouch held the wipe case, 4 size 1 diapers, diaper trash bags, and a tube of A&D

Headbands
I've also done monogrammed bibs and fabric headbands, which I don't have photos of on this computer.

So that's what I've been doing during nap times/bedtimes and I think Kev's happy to have our dining room table back. ;-)

A Local Weekend

I have so much to catch up on!

We spent last weekend imersed in a ton of different local activities all across the county!

We kicked off Friday night at the Vintage Garage Sale in downtown West Chester. It was held in the new Chestnut Street parking garage. How cool is that?

Kicking Off May

We had a pack week last week. Packed with tons of fun! I'll apologize now for all the pictures. At least they are of cute toddlers :-)

It started on Sunday when we went to see my friends puppies.

Then on Monday with met up with our friends Amy and Anthony at the park near our house.

Come on Logan! Hurry up!

Top of the world

Weeee!!!!

Swings are fun, but we wanna move!

No momma, this way

Mom's like to play too!

The big kids just ran by and didn't say hi! :-(

That's okay, we can still get them

How's big Anthony?

Logan, get up! I heard something...

See! A plane!!!

Double trouble :-)

Tuesday was low key around the house. The alarm at the clubhouse kept going off so we had a visit from the fire truck and then we took advantage of the gorgeous day and cooked out on the grill. Homemade burgers, fries and ketchup. Yum!

Clapping with the neighbor girls who just walked by

Mmm, burgers!

Mmm, real fries

My parents make the yummiest foods for me!

Wednesday we met up with Beth and Reece at Jumpers and Logan had his first bouncy experience. Quite fun!
