Lampeter Fair 2012

The end of September always marks fair time! For a good chunk of my life I would be there Wednesday, Thursday and Friday nights. :-) Then I went to college and got a real job. Now that we have Logan, we go out on Friday night. It's fun to run into old friends, see the animals, watch Logan experience what I did, and see the kids sucking helium and walking around in herd, and remember the time that I was that little doing those things.

You can't go to the fair and not eat! First of all, this is Lancaster we're talking about. Homemade yummy goodness! Second of all, it's a fair. :-) Logan enjoyed his fair share this year. (Sidenote: judging by his diaper in the morning he had MORE than his fair share)

Shoveling in the hot dog

Dangling feet
Stolen from my mom

Mmm milkshake!

Milkshake mustache :-)

Then we saw the animals
Baa-baa's

Not so sure about the sheep

I got your back dad

Baby goats

Checking out the goats

Bathtime after being sheered...gotta be cold!

"Let's go over there!"

Grandpa taking Logan to the next moo-moo

Hello cow

She was obsessed with licking Kev

Family! (Nice face Mark!)

Rammy?

Funky looking chicken

The goat wanted Logan, but he wasn't having it

Llama, llama missing his red pajamas

Saw some trackers and walked around (by this time it was totally dark so sorry for the yellow lights)
Found a yard stick and all was right in the world again

Not wanting to sit...at least he wasn't crying like last year

Time to keep moving people

Sunset and fair craziness

Tracker with dadda

Balloon obsession

Watched the cattle roping

Best view when your little

Or through the gate

Stubbornness

Had my 50mm lens on, so seriously this close!

Baby Shower Gifts

Saturday I drove out to Ephrata for my cousin's baby shower. She's having a little girl (first for our family, yay!) which is super exciting. I whipped up a few little gifts for her and thought I'd share them. I've had many people tell me that I should open an Etsy shop with them, and maybe I will. Someday. For now, I'll just say that I'm open to doing custom orders if you have a shower coming up, or if you're having a baby and would like something. :-)
Almost everything (minus a basket full of stuff for the hospital)
I made a diaper bouquet (an idea from pinterest, but didn't have instructions so I guessed how myself), 4 burp cloths, 2 crochet headbands, 2 pacifier clips, 1 nursing cover clip, covered a wiper box, and a diaper pouch and stocked it, including a covered travel wipe case.

The pacifier clips, works great with either kind, the ones with a 'handle' or with the holes
Nursing cover clip- turns any blanket into a nursing cover, without having the bulk of having to pack something extra that takes up a bunch of room

Burp cloths, including a contoured one

Covered wipe container- just to look nicer sitting on the changing table
Diaper pouch and covered wipe case - pouch held the wipe case, 4 size 1 diapers, diaper trash bags, and a tube of A&D

Headbands
I've also done monogrammed bibs and fabric headbands, which I don't have photos of on this computer.

So that's what I've been doing during nap times/bedtimes and I think Kev's happy to have our dining room table back. ;-)

Memorial Day Weekend Recap

Almost a month behind isn't too bad is it?

Saturday we checked out the pool that is literally in our backyard. So nice!

Sunday Kevin and I had a date night to watch USA's women's soccer team play down in Chester. His parents don't live to far away, so his parents watched Logan for us as well as dropped us off and picked us up so we didn't have to deal with parking.

Warm-ups

$6 for water!?!?!?!

Yay for date night!!!

Where's waldo...err USA?

This was the site that greeted up when we came back :-)

Monday  we had my family's picnic.

My little monster

Not liking Uncle Mark spraying him with the hose

Uncle Mark thinks he's just acting like a baby

Daddy showing Logan the water

Logan prefers to drink it

Remember when we were little it used to say "adult supervision"? Now they need to specify that it needs to be 'competent'

Cuddles and food from Oma

So fun.
