Today marks 4 years since I agreed to spend the rest of my life with my best friend!

(Don't mind the time stamps on all the pictures, they are from my old camera and I was a weirdo and liked to have the dates on my pictures. Guess I didn't think it was ruining them.)

I still can remember the day like yesterday. It was a surprisingly warm day for December and I was working at our buyback van out in Millersville. A month or so prior we decided that it would be fun to see the Philly orchestra's Christmas special. December was going to be a busy month for both of us (story of our lives) with finals for him and work for me, so it was nice to have a date on the calendar to actually see each other.

We got dressed up and met at his parents since they don't live to far outside the city. Since we don't do that much his parents took pictures of us, or so I thought. I had no idea what was coming that evening, but they did.

Quick side note... I had bought that sweater for him from Banana awhile back and it was the first time I saw him in it. Apparently I put my hand on his chest when I was admiring it, and he had the ring in his shirt pocket and I almost touched it. Oops.

In a quick recap:

We saw the orchestra, which was awesome. Then we got stuck in a parking garage traffic jam. Walked around Independence hall area and stopped in a small park 'to take a picture'. Little did I know that was an excuse to carry his camera bag which held the ring box. After a sweet talk, he said that since tomorrow was one year since we first said "I love you", there was no better way to express that love than to spend the rest of our lives together. Once I finally said 'yes' (and got over the fact that the box actually was glowing and it wasn't in my head), we rushed to the corner for a horse and carriage ride. Which is a story in itself since we were so late because of the traffic. But we got our ride around old city which was super fun. Then we got back to his house where his family was waiting up and had a sweet little celebration set up for us. The next day we drove out to my family to tell/show them and then to church were Kevin had called all my close friends to make sure they were there so I could show off the ring to all of them at once.

Ah the memories. I had no idea what I was getting myself into at the time, but I'm so glad that I did. Best decision of my life.

Love you babe!!!

Steph's Weekend

The other weekend a group of friends headed down (over?) to OCNJ to celebrate our good friend Stephanie's upcoming wedding! I haven't gotten many weekends recently that haven't been booked and it was wonderful to just hang out with friends and relax. No plans or agenda's to follow, just a time to do what we want, at the pace we want.

We kicked off Friday night with a Friends marathon. Love it!!! Despite a wicked storm over night, Saturday woke us with sunshine and warmth!

We took a lazy morning before walking around the shops in town. A few of the girls had to buy flip flops since it was so unexpectedly warm.

Kel and I enjoying the sun while the others finish their purchases.

Then we went for mani's and pedi's. The people who ran the place were so friendly and nice, and their son was so freaking adorable!

By then it was late in the day and we were all starving so we headed up to the boardwalk for some classic, boardwalk style grease pit...err, I mean pizza.
That was only one of our napkin piles...I guess that's what you get when half the group majored in nutrition.
After more shopping on the boardwalk, we were heading back to the car and stumbled across a beach wedding! You can't really tell from the picture, but you should have seen the shoes most girls were wearing. Stilettos on a boardwalk? In the sand? Not the smartest move.Arriving back at the house I realized that I haven't set foot on sand and you absolutely CANNOT go to the beach and not walk on the beach.

With a little photoshop I think these would make some awesome pictures!
It's sad to think that was probably my last time at the beach until next year. :-(

Weekend Fun

The weekend was jammed packed with fun with the in-loves, holding our first ever yard sale, a super awesome weekend, and Turks Head festival. Luckily I remember to whip out the camera to capture a few of the moments! :-)

The groom cheesing as he watches his bride enter...

Mr. and Mrs. Flanigan
Relaxing in the shade, what a gorgeous day for the festival!
Kev and his two leading ladies (his sister and wife)
Hula hoops must be making a comeback, because they were seriously EVERWHERE!
3 stages for all the bands.
Hot air balloon rides! You can just feel the nice weather and all the fun people are having lounging in their chairs and blankets.
Diggin' for treasure
Crazy rides they had for the kids. I don't think you would catch me spinning all around and upside down!
And what day would be complete without some oh-so-yummy FUNNEL CAKE!!!
Lots and lots of fun.

Kelbel's Wedding

What a crazy fun wedding weekend!

Friday night was the dress rehearsal and we were blessed with lovely weather. It was warm and sunny, we had tons of yummy food and good company. Practice went smoothly, and the gifts were lovely pearl jewelry that Kel made. There was so much going on, and somehow it was almost midnight before we got to bed. It's been forever since the 4 of us have had a sleepover. :-)

4:30 rolled around way too soon, and it was time to get our hair all done up, and clean off the chairs and prep for the ceremony. It was absolutely beautiful and perfect! Kelly and Nate are so perfect together. Oh, and I know how everyone says that it's a small world, but it seriously is. One of my best friends from high school was at the wedding because his fiance is friends with Kel! Crazy.

Stephy!Me and the gorgeous bride!!!

The reception was at Shady Maple! We all know how awesome there food is :-) I just can't believe that it is all over...so many months of preparation, first the shower, then the bachelorette party and now the wedding. It was a good excuse for us friends to get together and catch up. Now everyone will be back to their normal lives and too busy for each other. :-( I wish we all lived closer. Maybe someday.
At least I get to live with my very best friend! :-)
